Bellevue, Washington is
located East of Seattle and is accessible from
Seattle by using one of two bridges. Bellevue is
commonly referred to as the Eastside due to its
proximity to Seattle. Bellevue began as a
bedroom community which was very popular with
the Boeing employees back in the 70's. Bellevue
is a rapidly growing city with several high rise
towers currently under construction which will
feature mixed use of retail stores, and
condominiums. The Eastside contains the top 10
zip codes in the nation for high income areas.
Bellevue Square is the local shopping mall with
over 200 stores and many restaurants.
Bellevue schools are highly rated
overall, and its four high schools were ranked
in the Newsweek article, "Best High Schools In
America 2005", and three were ranked in the top
50 nationally. Bellevue was rated 18 out of the
nations 25 best places to live by Newsweek
Magazine 2006.
